American music masters Edgar Meyer (bass) and Mike Marshall (mandolin) join together with George Meyer (violin) for a special collaboration usually only heard on the summer bluegrass festival circuit! Expect to hear works from the genre bending Short Trip Home album of many years ago as well as new music written specifically for this tour. Edgar's son George is charting his own course in the musical world and represents the next generation of artists expressing their unique voices and perspective. He certainly has strong roots! We are honored to host this show.
Come try out water polo with Southern Maine Water Polo! We are a club that welcomes all newcomers. The only requirement for the sport is that you are an experienced swimmer. We will help to teach the fundamentals of the sport throughout practice. Expect a fantastic workout while playing this fun sport! Make sure to check out our website for any changes to our schedule. We do not practice on holiday weekends.

We recommend soft soled, flexible shoes. Bring a water bottle. There is a beginner/preview session at 5 p.m. by request. Note, we do not dance during the month of December.

ArtsFarmington is pleased to start off 2026 by presenting a Silent Film Comedy Festival with Doug Protsik on "Old Time Piano". This is the 100th anniversary of the release of the classic, all-time-favorite, full feature silent film, “The General”, with Buster Keaton. The festival features classic 20-minute shorts, “two reelers”, featuring Buster Keaton and others. These 20-minute shorts, a success in their own right, propelled the likes of Buster Keaton into the era of the feature length film. A vote at the end will establish the “best film” in the eyes of the audience!
The Festival will be on Sunday, February 1st at 7:00 p.m. in the Emery Arts Center, University of Maine at Farmington. The suggested adult adult admission is $20, more if you can, less if you can’t. All welcome, no one is turned away. Free for UMF students and for youth 18 and under through our Arts Inspire Youth program.
Tickets may be purchased at the door or through our website at artsfarmington.org.
ArtsFarmington is an affiliate of the University of Maine at Farmington.

Join us for an intro/ intermediate impressionist landscape painting series.
Painting will be done on a 16x20" canvas board with acrylic paints of a sunrise view from the top of Cadillac Mountain.
We will work with BIG and GESTURAL strokes focusing on color relationships unique to Mount Desert Island. All materials and instructions provided.
The show opens with the first era of space exploration in the late 1960s and early 1970s. We see what that era of landers and orbiters taught us about our nearest neighbor including the discovery of the Moon’s origin, composition, structure and the accessibility of raw materials on its surface.
Starts February 2nd (Mondays from 1:30PM-4:30PM for 6 weeks).
Brush up on your skills and follow up on what was learned in Wheel Throwing Part One. (New students are welcome if they can throw a three-inch cylinder.)

The instructor can demonstrate most things students are interested in or curious about. Bring questions and wear old clothes.
For students who have taken one of our beginner level ceramic series or a similar course elsewhere.
Non-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200.
Fee does not include materials. Clay and glaze can be purchased from the instructor.
