The plans call for the paving of new surface lots to accommodate a growing number of travelers who park their cars at the Portland International Jetport for longer periods of time. It would add a net total of 265 parking spaces.

So far, air traffic controllers, TSA agents and other federal employees have been showing up to work in Portland, jetport officials said Thursday.

The $18 million is for infrastructure improvements at the International Jetport including replacing aging aircrafts, new bathrooms and snow removal equipment.

The clearing of nearly 5 acres may have violated local, state, and federal regulations regarding wetlands, city officials say.

After nearly a year of debate over the environmental merits, a slightly scaled back proposal to expand parking at the Portland International Jetport cleared a key hurdle.

United will begin flying the seasonal summer route on June 28, 2025.

But travel numbers are still expected to fall below the typical summer tourism peak.

The low-cost carrier will offer nonstop service to Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers.

Airlines had nearly 6,000 tickets for sale leaving Portland Friday. July and August are the busiest months at the jetport, and so the IT outage had a bigger impact on operations compared to a winter storm, Portland International Jetport officials said.
